Lint Accumulation

Lint accumulation in dryer vents can be quite problematic, but don't worry, we're here to help you understand the factors at play. Each house has its own unique set of circumstances, causing lint buildup to vary. So, how much buildup should you tolerate before cleaning? Well, not much more than a light dusting. Straight sections of ducts should only have a light dusting, while your transition duct, elbows (turns), and termination cover may experience some "balling" due to increased restriction. However, these lint balls should be no larger than a quarter in size, ideally even smaller.

For most people, annual cleanings are preferred to effectively manage lint buildup. Of course, if your vent system is DIY-friendly, with a short exhaust and easy access, more frequent cleanings can be done. However, professional cleanings usually find that an annual cleaning is highly effective in keeping your vent system safe and efficient. Going beyond this recommended interval can increase the risk of fire hazards. To motivate proper maintenance, we offer discounted annual cleanings and further discounts when you schedule your next appointment a year in advance.

Take control of your vent system's health and enjoy peace of mind knowing that you're taking the necessary steps to prevent potential hazards.
